Medical Assistant (Part-time/3 Days) - Orthopedics (Boulder, CO) Position: Medical Assistant Location: Boulder, CO Job Type: Part-Time/Regular (20 hours per week – 2 full 8‑hour days and 1½ day) Salary: $18.91 - $25.21 per hour (range may vary based on experience)

Summary Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking medically trained candidates to join our Orthopedics team as a Medical Assistant! This position is benefit‑eligible with a flexible schedule and opportunities for professional growth.

Experience working with both primary care and specialty care clinics.

Job Duties

Perform clinic administrative duties, including answering incoming telephone calls, obtaining and/or verifying patient information, patient check‑in/out, and coordinating accurate patient appointments.

Obtain patient medical history, vital signs, chart preparation, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergens, and assist with medical examinations.

Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in electronic and/or manual systems as established by appropriate protocols, regulations, and policies.

Prepare examination rooms, ensuring proper equipment is present and rooms are adequately stocked.

Document all aspects of the patient encounter in an electronic medical record system.

Experience and Skills

Good history‑taking skills and strong computer skills; accurate and complete documentation skills; good time management and organizational skills.

Ability to relate well and communicate with patients, providers, and staff.

Self‑direction in establishing priorities and working with little supervision.

Education Requirements (one of the following options)

Completion of Medical Assistant education. Certification is not required but preferred.

Other completed medical training and proof of active certification with 1+ years of recent field experience is an acceptable substitution (e.g., EMT, Surgical Tech, CNA).

Military medical training and education with supporting documentation is an acceptable substitution for Medical Assistant credentials.

College graduates with a completed four‑year bachelor’s degree are an acceptable substitution for Medical Assistant credentials.

Experience

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a clinic setting is preferred.

Compensation

$18.91 - $25.21 per hour (full pay range $18.91 - $28.36).

This position will be posted for a minimum of three (3) days or until filled.
