Responsibilities
Provide instruction across a full range of nursing topics.
Teach in various formats, including day, evening, weekend, large classes, distance learning, and multiple teaching methodologies.
Participate in student recruitment and articulation programs.
Maintain subject‑matter currency; develop and revise curriculum.
Use computer and multimedia technology to enhance learning.
Collaborate collegially in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Nursing.
Or Bachelor’s in Nursing and a Master’s in Health Education or Health Science.
Or qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing, whichever is higher.
Equivalency considered for combinations of education, experience, and accomplishments. Submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE with supporting documents.
Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Degrees and credits from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Foreign degrees (including Canada, Great Britain) must be evaluated by a recognized service.
Knowledge & Abilities
Work effectively with colleagues and students in a diverse learning environment.
Develop and deliver curriculum in multiple modalities.
Engage in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Maintain subject‑matter currency.
Assess student learning outcomes.
Utilize computers and be open to new technologies that benefit the program.
Commitment to the California community college mission.
