Senior Project Management Specialist Exploration Upper Stage Integrated Product Team (IPT) Readiness Lead

to join NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) Program in

New Orleans, LA . NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) is key to returning the United States to the Moon and sending the first astronauts on to Mars. This position is responsible for overall execution of engineering, supply chain and operations activities for the Exploration Upper Stage Elements. This position reports to the SLS Exploration Upper Stage IPT Leader.

Responsibilities

Manages and ensures area and element readiness within the larger Integrated Product Team (IPT). Characterizes and manages risks, issues, and opportunities with executable and relevant mitigation plans, and accurate financial impacts. Monitors metrics to manage IPT performance, identify program risk, and prioritize resource allocation. Reports status to program and executive leadership, both internal and with the customer. Maintains a high performing integrated team with a positive culture driven by Boeing values. Develops and maintains project baselines (technical, cost, schedule, requirements, configuration, etc.). Implements program processes, and seeks out process improvements to eliminate waste and drive execution. Supports proposal development (tech volume, Basis of Estimate, schedule, resources, Ground Rules & Assumptions), and negotiations. Assists with staffing plan development; participates in hiring, performance management, and career development.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “ U.S. Person ” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Bachelor's degree or higher 3+ years’ experience in leading and/or managing complex projects 3+ years’ experience in delegating and ensuring performance of assigned responsibilities and tasks as a project team leader Experience working with Test Readiness Reviews, Design Reviews and/or Technical Working Groups Experience leading or managing cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Bachelor’s in engineering 8+ years of project/program management Experience Earned Value Management (EVM) Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) Experience with baseline/change management, customer & supplier communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning and control Experience preparing and presenting to executives, senior leadership, and external customers
