Manage a comprehensive program in the development, evaluation, and maintenance of security automated systems, policies, devices, procedures and methods used for safeguarding personnel, information, property, operations and materials. Conduct overall planning and implementation of security policies and procedures for the Central Site. Provide guidance to functional managers on annual risk assessments as they pertain to security matters, reviewing investigative reports, developing personnel security program guidelines, submitting reports. Conduct inspections of security operations at the DFAS Central Site and assist in security training and instruction program, established within DFAS or DoD. Conduct management training in the security aspects of personnel risk assessment. Implement policy and procedures regarding Antiterrorism and Force Protection (AT/FP) requirements. Requirements

Conditions of employment

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as:

demonstrating a broad range of security concepts, principles, and practices in order to assess and resolve difficult security problems for an organization; utilizing technical expertise related to information or physical security to effectively implement, integrate, and administer applicable security programs in coordination with other specialized security programs. Volunteer Experience:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. Education

Substitution of Education for Experience:

Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Additional information
