Waco District-Maintenance Section Supervisor (Belton Maintenance Office)
Job Overview TxDOT’s Waco District is hiring a Maintenance Section Supervisor for the Belton Maintenance Office. The role leads a dedicated maintenance crew and oversees all roadway upkeep, safety, and emergency response within a specified geographic area.
Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and manage a maintenance crew.
Plan, assign, and inspect roadway projects.
Manage equipment, materials, budgets, and personnel.
Coordinate emergency responses to incidents and severe weather.
Address public and stakeholder concerns professionally.
Supervise technical and clerical employees and office activities.
Ensure safety guidelines are followed and conduct training.
Monitor and prepare the budget.
Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
9 years roadway maintenance or construction–related work.
3 years supervisory/managerial experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Class "A" Commercial Driver’s License with "N" endorsement.
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial driver’s license with "N" endorsement.
Experience with intermodal transportation engineering, bridge construction, and MDOT.
Knowledge of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
Incident management, safety standards, and budgeting experience.
Public relations and supervisory skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work both indoors and outdoors under varying conditions.
Exposure to hazards such as moving vehicles, mechanical parts, and chemicals.
Protective gear required.
Medium lifting: up to 50 lbs.; frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.
Required to report to duty within 45 minutes of a 24‑hour notification.
Pre‑employment physical and drug testing required.
