Located in Bristol, Indiana, Elcona Country Club was founded in 1956. The golf course was designed by the legendary golf architect William Diddle and renovated by Arthur Hills. Stunning mature tree lines, Poa Annua greens, and impeccably maintained Bentgrass fairways provide a relaxing retreat from the everyday. Embracing all its members in a friendly, family‑oriented atmosphere, Elcona's membership represents all walks of life and professions and provides excellent opportunities to expand one's circle of acquaintances, both professionally and socially. Elcona CC has about 310 golfing members who will turn around 18,000 rounds in 2025.
Experience Required
PGA Member or Associate
Private Club Experience preferred
A desire to move up within the golf industry
Basic knowledge of daily golf course operations, USGA rules, handicap, course rating system, mechanics and techniques of golf swing, and general game of golf
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be self‑motivated, detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Teaching/Club Fitting Experience
Tournament Operations using Golf Genius Software
Staff Management Experience
Essential Responsibilities
Work directly with the Head Golf Professional to ensure the highest level of Service to the Elcona CC Membership and their guests
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Responsible for day to day golf operations
Provide Lessons for all skill levels
Plan and Execute Junior Golf Program in its entirety
Hire, Train, Schedule and manage Bag Room Staff and Caddies (12‑20 employees)
Inventory Control
Have knowledge of merchandise and selling skills
Assist Head Professional and other Golf Professionals with weekly groups/leagues (9 & 18 Hole Ladies, Men's League, Outings, etc.)
Be willing to learn, take direction, and develop skills
Practice and play the game with members of different groups

12‑Month Position
Elcona is committed to maintaining a healthy work‑life balance for all of its staff. While some weeks will require long hours, professionals will have one day off per week guaranteed and maintain 45‑50 hour work weeks in‑season. We will work as a team to ensure staff members are able to attend major life events as they come for all professionals (weddings, anniversarys, kid's events, etc.)
