We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of GAAP and at least one year of relevant accounting experience. This position will play a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end close and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial data.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Maintain and organize accounting documentation for audits and compliance.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience applying GAAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
