Job Title: Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor
Location: Burlington, WA
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Pitman Schedule (6 PM – 6 AM)
The Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, assigning, and reviewing maintenance work. This role performs a variety of duties related to the supervision of maintenance activities, including training, supervising, and evaluating employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implement new equipment technologies for manufacturing and quality improvements, including equipment upgrades, process technologies, tooling, and manufacturing techniques.
Supervise and plan the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and processes within the facility.
Coordinate product and process design changes.
Collaborate with management, production, and sales/marketing teams to discuss project specifications and procedures.
Analyze technology, resources, market needs, and customer demands to assess project feasibility.
Perform administrative functions such as report preparation, rule enforcement, and purchasing support.
Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings internally and externally.
Participate in purchasing maintenance materials and technical services per company protocols.
Assist in establishing and implementing a systematic preventative maintenance program with the Maintenance and Reliability Manager.
Investigate equipment failures and breakdowns, providing corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
Oversee PM (preventive maintenance) and PD (predictive maintenance) plans using automated software tools.
Monitor parts requests to maintain adequate inventory levels and cost efficiencies within budget.
Lead continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and report status to management.
Ensure optimal equipment and process performance at all times.
Provide technical support to the production team as needed.
Select appropriate resources (contractors, suppliers, etc.) to minimize costs and ensure timely, on-budget completion.
Enforce compliance with all legislative and safety requirements.
Foster motivation, teamwork, and a safe work environment for all operations staff.
Minimize risks of accidents and environmental impact.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of engineering concepts including electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems.
Ability to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block logic.
Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff Twin Cat) and electric circuitry components such as contactors, relays, limit switches, and proximity sensors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with strong time and project management skills.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
2–3 years of supervisory experience.
Experience with ABB robots preferred.
Experience in highly automated environments preferred.
Fabrication experience preferred.
