Behavior Consultants – CCDC Great Valley Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU)

Position: Behavioral Consultant (Student Services Division) Location: Child & Career Development Center – Great Valley Campus, Malvern, PA

Summary of Position This role specializes in behavior change for our school community. The Behavior Consultant provides direct assistance to educational staff, administrators, and parents to address challenging behaviors of students at the Child and Career Development Center (CCDC). Responsibilities include individual and group trainings, functional behavior analyses, positive behavior support plans, regulatory guidance, collaboration with school and agency personnel, and expertise in behavior modification for complex cases. All services and documentation are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations and are based on best practice, research‑validated methods, and PDE‐supported procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide consultation to staff through observations, functional behavior assessment, behavior modification plan development, and recommendations using best practice methodologies.

Conduct functional behavioral assessments for students in school, home, or community settings.

Create individualized positive behavior support plans to address target behaviors.

Train staff, parents, and students on plan implementation; monitor treatment integrity and provide feedback.

Develop and oversee ongoing behavior data collection and present summarized data as needed.

Assist staff in maintaining expertise in deescalation techniques for challenging and complex behaviors.

Provide direct intervention support to students, both proactively (teaching new skills) and reactively (facilitating de‑escalation).

Offer training, staff development, and informational support to LEA staff, parents, students, and agency personnel.

Maintain professional, legally compliant documentation of services and student paperwork.

Stay up‑to‑date on best practice and research‑validated practices.

Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Master’s Degree required.

Experience working with children and adolescents with severe and complex behavior challenges in a school, community, or residential setting required.

Licensed Behavior Specialist Consultant in Pennsylvania required.

Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required.

Schedule Monday – Friday; 7.5 hours per day; 260 days per year (12‑month)

Salary (2026‑2027) Project, Level 14, Exempt: $68,981 – $86,227 per year. Placement on scale determined by years of experience in a similar role.
