Registered Nurse RN PCU Resource Team
Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, Phoenix, AZ offers a $15,000 sign‑on bonus for this Full‑Time Day shift position. The schedule is 3 × 12‑hour shifts (7:00 AM‑7:30 PM) with holiday and weekend coverage required. Nurses receive an 18% hourly night shift differential, a $3.00/hour weekend differential, and a $3.00/hour float incentive on top of base pay.

Position Summary The RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care for patients in PCU/Telemetry units, including cardiovascular progressive care and neurological trauma units. The RN is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves and staff under their direction while utilizing specialized knowledge and professional judgment.
Core Functions
Assesses patient needs across physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural domains; reviews history, diagnostics, and lab data; and completes required assessments and reassessments.
Formulates and revises individualized plans of care, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and patient/family input.
Implements plans through direct care, delegation, and supervision of the healthcare team, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
Evaluates patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising care plans as needed.
Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring timeliness and legibility.
Participates in evidence‑based practice and may engage in research and unit leadership.
Precepts and mentors staff, students, and visitors to promote learning and quality of care.
Contributes to national nursing quality improvement initiatives and engages in professional organizations.
May supervise staff and departmental workflow when applicable.
Collaborates with all levels of staff, external partners, and clergy to provide comprehensive care and support.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, valid RN license in the state of practice or an activated compact license. An interim or temporary RN license is acceptable.
BLS certification required.
Experience in an acute‑care setting within the past 12 months; at least one year of acute‑care/physician practice experience required for Banner Registry/Travel positions.
Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for certain Banner locations; other facility‑specific fingerprint cards required as applicable.
Maintenance of clinical performance competencies through annual validations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field (preferred).
Professional certification preferred.
Additional clinical experience relevant to PCU/Telemetry units, cardiovascular and neurological trauma progressive care.
