Join Mercy as an RN Supervisor for our Patient Access Center during evening shifts.
Job Summary As the critical gateway to our health system, the Throughput RN plays a pivotal role in shaping first impressions and delivering a brand-defining experience for patients, their families, and healthcare partners. This high-performance position requires professionals who excel in communication, coordination, and clinical judgment to seamlessly facilitate patient admissions and transfers. By expertly matching patient needs to facility resources and ensuring optimal bed placement, the Throughput RN upholds our commitment to quality, safety, and compassion.
Through proactive engagement and collaborative problem‑solving, the Throughput RN is entrusted with guiding patients and referring providers through the complex transfer process. This role optimizes acceptance coordination and demonstrates our sincere gratitude to those who choose to place their trust in our care.
Position Details • Fully Remote – high-speed internet connection required.
• Must reside within 1 hour of a Mercy Hospital (Mercy- St Louis, Mercy Jefferson- Festus, Mercy South- South St Louis County, Mercy Washington- Washington, MO, Mercy Lincoln- Troy, MO, Mercy Southeast - Cape Girardeau, MO).
Shifts:
Evenings – 4‑10 hour shifts or 5‑8 hour shifts; on‑call weekdays minimal & weekends 2 shifts within 6 weeks.
Qualifications
RN License
– Current RN license in the state of Missouri required.
Experience
– Minimum of 3 years RN experience including at least 1 year Telemetry or higher. Preferred: minimum of 1 year Critical Care or Emergency Room experience.
Certifications
– BLS required.
Skills & Traits
– Excellent time management and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication; demonstrates “Contagious Calm” in high‑pressure situations; self‑driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision; flexible, collaborative, improvement-oriented; strong leadership and customer service mindset.
