Overview
The Ann Arbor Police Department is a full-service department with many services and divisions. These include a detective section, traffic services unit, K9, motorcycle and bicycle patrols, as well as a community engagement unit that includes many programs and opportunities to volunteer and get involved. Our service specialist staff help both the sworn staff and community through various duties within the department, including taking reports at the front desk and assisting with traffic control at large events. The Ann Arbor Police Department is committed to a community-oriented policing philosophy and strives for a high level of community engagement. Working the police front-desk Monday through Friday, hours to be set by management as needed. Starting Hourly Rate:
$29.58 After hire, pay increases are dependent on length of service, advancement in the position, and other contractual factors. This position is represented by the Police Service Specialist (PSS) union. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Education, Training and Experience – Preferred
Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a related field. Certifications / Designations
LEIN Certification Crime Prevention Designation Notary Public CPR and First Aid Certification Licensing Requirements
Valid Michigan Driver’s License View Additional Requirements and Information
