Responsibilities
Manage the execution of medium-size and/or complex to large projects, ensuring all activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments.
Lead as Site Project Manager at customer sites during the execution phase, providing project team management on schedule, material, and resource planning (internal and subcontractors), commissioning and punch list item closure.
Define and apply the project execution approach, oversee handover, planning, budgeting, and monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish project goals.
Ensure the project follows HSE policies and ABB policies; provide performance feedback and drive continuous improvement and simplification.
Serve as the key point of contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues; promote collaboration and effective stakeholder management.
Identify, plan, and deliver all document deliverables required by the contractual scope of work and integrate them into the overall project plan/schedule.
Monitor and control project progress, resource utilization, financials, invoicing status, costs, expenses, and cash flow.
Lead the site project team, allocate tasks, and motivate internal and external resources and suppliers to achieve milestones.
At the customer site, manage installation, commissioning, and handover activities while managing project risks and pursuing opportunities.
Support local Sales and Tendering through early involvement in tenders.
Capture and share lessons learned; drive formal project acceptance, contract close-out, and customer acknowledgment in accordance with the contract.
Coordinate procurement activities for services, materials, and equipment from external and internal suppliers with assigned resources.
Define and apply advanced project scheduling techniques to proactively manage schedule risks and maintain On Time Delivery (OTD).
Apply earned value management to monitor the critical path and project float to optimize the schedule.
Forecast schedules to determine if the project remains within defined tolerance ranges and identify required change requests.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 8+ years of experience
Strong experience in Site Management and Project Management
Background in Controls Engineering, PLC programming, Robot programming, manufacturing, and construction in the Automotive industry (desirable)
ABB PM Certification required for internal ABB candidates
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Project (desired)
Willingness to travel over 50% of the time
