Key Responsibilities

Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on precision measurement equipment.

Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured components using various metrology tools.

Program, set up, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other automated measurement systems.

Analyze measurement data, interpret engineering drawings, and generate detailed inspection reports.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment, processes, and results.

Ensure all metrology activities comply with internal quality standards and industry specifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025).

Provide technical support and training on metrology principles and equipment to production and engineering teams.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in operating and interpreting precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs, optical comparators).

Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical specifications.

Experience with calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of metrology equipment.

Familiarity with metrology software and data analysis tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Associate's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Metrology, Machining, Quality) or equivalent work experience.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience programming automated metrology equipment (e.g., CMMs, Vision Systems).

Proficiency in advanced statistical analysis software or Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

Working knowledge of CAD software for measurement planning or fixture design.

Experience with non-contact measurement technologies (e.g., laser scanners, structured light systems).
