Metrology Technician | Mason, MI Salary Range:

$54,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Perform calibration, maintenance, and repair of metrology equipment and instruments.

Conduct precision measurements of manufactured components and assemblies.

Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance to engineering specifications.

Document all measurement data, calibration records, and inspection reports.

Analyze measurement results to identify trends, deviations, and support quality improvements.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement accuracy and equipment performance.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in operating and calibrating precision measurement equipment (e.g., CMMs, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).

Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.

Experience with metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) for data collection and analysis.

Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Bonus Qualifications

Advanced CMM programming experience (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)

Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software or data analysis tools

Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for model-based inspection

Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements
