Overview
The Department of Administration's Office of Executive Policy & Programs seeks a Developmental Disabilities Program & Policy Manager to join the team. In this role you will direct and manage program design and implementation for all SC Developmental Disabilities Council projects. This position will oversee programs and help monitor federal and state legislation for those served. This role will develop and manage marketing strategies and outreach.
Responsibilities
Oversee the planning, development, management and oversight of the council's funded initiatives and State Plan activities.
Oversee Partners in Policymaking activities, including classes and events.
Manage marketing materials and social media activities and strategies.
Oversee work with diverse populations.
Monitor key state and federal legislation.
Coordinate drafting of the minutes for Council and Executive Committee Meetings and provide staffing support to the Employment Committee.
Lead and support staff through coaching, training, and performance development. Streamline workflows while implementing management policies and organizational initiatives. Foster a positive, team focused environment.
Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience in business, public administration, management, social work or a closely related field.
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council's mission, governing rules, state plan and other key initiatives.
Knowledge of management principles and experience successfully managing staff and programs.
Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations and laws at the state and federal levels.
Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees, make presentations and prepare reports.
Ability to research and complete reports and articles.
Significant experience with programs, services, laws and issues related to people with developmental disabilities.
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to understand and communicate effectively with people who have developmental disabilities, their families, professionals, policy makers and support/advocacy groups.
Experience and/or ability to work with diverse groups.

Master's degree and experience in managing programs.
Supervisory experience.
Experience managing virtual platforms, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
