Overview AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running and support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access for our customers. Role Amazon is looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in developing innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

Responsibilities

Move and implement large enterprise equipment

Patch cabling between equipment

Install fiber and copper cabling

Ensure proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation

Follow well established hardware installation procedures and break-fix activities

Ability to safely use material handling tools and equipment

Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects

Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles

Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interaction

Travel up to 20% within the geographical work area; some travel outside the area may be requested, including internationally

Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords

Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment

Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware

Move computer equipment up to 40 lbs and participate in group lifts for heavier items

Availability to work in an environment that operates 24/7

Qualifications To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. You must have strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability and the ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and diplomacy. Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies is preferred, along with 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.

Physical Requirements

Walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch

Work at heights and from ladders

Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds unassisted; participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more

Must be able to lift loads of up to 40 pounds and carry them for short distances

Continuously climb and descend stairs safely (sites with stairs)

Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance

Push or pull heavy objects into position

Daily travel between sites may be required

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Ability to work overtime as required

Compensation: Base pay ranges from $50,600/year to $113,200/year, depending on location and experience.
