Responsibilities

Support the pharmacy team to deliver operational and service excellence within your store.

Act as the first point of contact to assist patients and customers, providing an exceptional experience.

Assist in ensuring pharmacy operations run smoothly; prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.

Apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication throughout your shift.

Demonstrate genuine care and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued.

Complete the rigorous company training program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to state Board of Pharmacy guidelines.

Contribute to safe and effective operations of the pharmacy, including but not limited to:

Following SOPs at each workstation and pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.

Providing empathic service at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offering immunizations and other services at the register.

Performing inventory activities such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting‑bin inventories.

Seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients.

Being flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other stores in the market.

Understanding and complying with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.

Delivering additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntarily staffing off‑site clinics) where allowed.

Immunizations and Vaccines (Optional)

Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.

Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccine questions to the pharmacist on duty.

Monitor for, and respond to, adverse reactions; report adverse reaction events per public health requirements.

Verify and document patient information for vaccine administration.

Manage and track vaccine supplies.

Required Qualifications

Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification.

Minimum age 16 if not specified by the board.

High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if not specified by the board.

State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.

Essential Functions

Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.

Complete required training within the designated timeframe.

Attention and focus, including the ability to concentrate on tasks over time, pivot quickly, and confirm prescription information and label accuracy.

Customer service and team orientation: actively help people in a friendly manner, understand patient reactions, and respond appropriately.

Communication skills: verbal and written communication, active listening, and respectful interaction.

Mathematical reasoning: solve problems involving quantity calculations for prescriptions.

Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.

Physical demands: include mobile, lifting items up to 20 lbs, repetitive finger work, stooping, and visual acuity for detailed tasks.

Ability to undertake any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.

Preferred Qualifications

1‑3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

Ability to work in the home store and travel to other locations within the market for business needs.

Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 hours per week

Time Type Full time

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is $18.90 to $28.90 per hour. Base rate will vary based on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
