Join us as a Behavioral Health Technician at Emend Healthcare in Montclair, CA.

Oversee client care in a detox/residential substance abuse facility, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for individuals recovering from addiction.

Base Pay Range $17.00/hr – $23.00/hr (plus NOC shift differential)

Position Details Full‑time regular, NOC Shift: 10:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. (10‑hour shifts).

In‑person location: Montclair, CA.

About the Facility Benchmark Transitions at Montclair is launching a large detox/residential substance abuse disorder facility.

We are a professional, agile, and rewarding company seeking experienced employees to support our clients’ recovery journey.

Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Program Director, you will:

Supervise and monitor clients to maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment.

Assist new clients in acclimating to the program and support their progress toward treatment goals.

Take attendance, support life‑skills and educational groups, and participate in field trips or excursions.

Lead therapeutic groups, workshops, client move‑in/out events, and food preparation.

Monitor residence housekeeping needs and other program activities as requested.

Provide transportation for clients when directed.

Respond to medical emergencies under the supervision of the Program Director, Therapist, or Medical Director.

Support clients through recovery, implement detoxification protocols, and manage medication administration.

Maintain detailed and accurate clinical reports of client conditions and status.

Manage other duties or assignments as required.

Qualifications

High‑school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in a Joint Commission‑compliant setting (hospital, medical, or detox/recovery environment).

Proficiency in reading and understanding the English language.

Current valid certificate from an accredited Substance Use Disorders certification program (minimum RADT).

Current valid CPR and First Aid certificate.

Valid California driver’s license and liability insurance if driving a personal vehicle on duty.

Ability to stand, stoop, bend, squat, and lift up to twenty‑five pounds; must use a dolly or cart for heavier items.

Adequate vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination for job duties.

Experience with self‑administration medication processes and ability to recognize withdrawal and medical emergencies.
