Financial Reporting Accountant – Energy Accounting Team – Oklahoma City Base salary range: $100,000 - $135,000 per year

Job Details The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring accurate representation of our financial position. Key responsibilities include:

Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy and completeness.

Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.

Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.

Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and commitments to project future revenues and expenses.

Report to management regarding the finances of the organization.

Establish proper account entries and maintain chart of accounts.

Use OGsys software for data entry and financial analysis.

Collaborate closely with audit teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of all audit processes.

Prepare and review monthly accruals and assist in the forecasting and budgeting process.

Stay updated on industry trends and regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

At least 5 years of experience in a financial reporting role, preferably in the energy industry.

Proficiency with OGsys or equivalent software.

Strong understanding of accruals, audit procedures, and upstream processes.

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Detail‑oriented with high levels of accuracy.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of current financial regulations and industry standards.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

CPA certification is a plus.
