Learning and Teaching Coordinator – Maternity Cover (Job Number: 25001731)

Responsibilities As a student‑facing coordinator you will deliver a professional administrative service, managing the smooth operation of taught programmes and departmental activities. Working closely with the Learning and Teaching Manager and Director of Taught Studies, you will interact regularly with students, provide advice and support, and partner with academic staff to ensure high‑quality programme delivery. You will work independently and as part of the team, making day‑to‑day decisions, resolving issues, and demonstrating strong organisational skills.
Qualifications and Experience
Five GCSEs at least Grade C (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics, or a Post‑16 qualification.
Demonstrable relevant experience in a busy office environment delivering front‑line administrative services to a high standard.
Experience of working effectively both as part of a team and independently, demonstrating adaptability and collaboration.
Demonstrable experience of managing time to meet deadlines and working under pressure without compromising quality.
Demonstrable experience of maintaining accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrable experience of providing advice and guidance to a range of customers and colleagues in a front‑line capacity.
Post‑18 qualifications or equivalent experience.
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships internally and externally.
Evidence of a positive attitude to work and customer service.
Strong digital competence across a range of digital devices and apps, including Microsoft 365.
Ability to proactively solve problems, plan solutions and make pragmatic decisions.
Strong planning skills to organise and prioritise work over an annual cycle.
Committed to continuous professional development.
Experience of working in Higher Education or a comparable environment.
Familiarity with student record systems and experience of organising programme events.
Experience of developing and maintaining databases, including use of Syllabus Plus.
