Controller
New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) offers specialized programs and support throughout New Jersey for infants, children, and adults with developmental and related disabilities. With a dedicated staff of more than 500 employees and 41 program sites throughout the state, NJID is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies of its kind in the nation. Each year, more than 1,500 infants, children, and adults with disabilities and their families are supported by NJID’s unique continuum of services. Responsibilities
Direct, control, coordinate, and plan the work activities of the Financial Services department and staff. Monitor the organization’s funding and cash flow projections. Oversee budgeting and budget execution; monitor progress and present operational metrics internally and externally. Pension plan and 403b maintenance. Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, and Financial Statement Production. Ensure financial systems and controls are in place. Heavy emphasis on detailed payroll and benefits processing, reconciliation work, and reporting and coordinating with Human Resources. Develop/review all accounting policies and procedures and agency computerization and automation needs. Develop implementation strategies for finance and operations in a rapidly changing funding environment. Manage all internal and external financial and regulatory audit activities. Responsible for final oversight of general ledger, budgeting, and tax reporting, combined with multiple external reporting requirements. Superior communication and Excel skills required, with general knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications. Reports directly to the President with monthly financial analysis and presents directly to the Board of Directors. Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field from an accredited institution or a standard school business administrator’s certificate issued pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:9B-12.7, or a CPA certificate or Bachelor’s degree with a valid NJ CPA License.
