Information Technology Specialist 3 ‒ SG‑23
Position within the NYS Office of Information Technology Services. Pay range: $86,681 – $109,650 per year (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Description Work will be on the Google Cloud Platform, supporting containerized environments for Cloud development teams.
Specific Duties
Work with Cloud development teams to support their current and future needs in a containerized environment.
Troubleshoot connectivity, load balancing, scaling, and monitoring issues.
Work with containerized workloads in a cloud hosting environment such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Provide administration, maintenance, and support of Google Kubernetes Engine.
Assist clients and stakeholders with issues on the Google Cloud Platform.
Document work in work logs.
Supervise SG‑18 employees.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
One year of permanent competitive services as an Information Technology Specialist 3 (Systems Programming) or equivalent position at SG‑21 or higher under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law, or a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1.
Eligible applicants must be reachable on the current eligible list for this title to be considered for appointment.
Additional Information Eligibility requirements: Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently. ITS does not sponsor F1 or H1 visas.
Some positions require fingerprinting, up to 25% travel, lifting up to 50 lbs, and may be pending Civil Service approval.
Location pay adjustments: NYC +$3,400, Mid‑Hudson +$1,650.
