Base Pay Range
$110,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr
Piel Law Firm, LLC is a boutique commercial real estate and finance law firm representing banks, lenders, institutional creditors, and commercial property owners.
Overview We are seeking at least a mid‑level attorney with at least three (3) years of experience in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, with meaningful exposure to commercial real‑estate related litigation, including landlord/tenant matters. This role is ideal for an attorney who wants to practice at the intersection of commercial finance, real estate, and enforcement, with direct client contact and responsibility on sophisticated matters.
Role
Represent commercial lenders and banks in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 proceedings
Draft and litigate motions for relief from stay, plan objections, and proofs of claim
Advise clients on loan workouts, restructurings, and enforcement strategy
Handle commercial landlord/tenant disputes, including enforcement, lease interpretation, and eviction matters
Litigate real estate‑driven disputes arising from loan defaults, foreclosures, and distressed assets
Appear in bankruptcy court and state courts
Work closely with firm attorneys and clients on complex commercial real‑estate matters
Candidate
3+ years of experience in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy
Experience representing commercial lenders, banks, or institutional creditors
Exposure to commercial landlord/tenant or real‑estate litigation preferred
Strong writing, analytical, and courtroom skills
Ability to manage matters independently
Maryland bar admission required (DC or additional jurisdictions a plus)
