Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers for raw materials and components. Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers. Generate and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods. Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize carrying costs. Collaborate with production and engineering to forecast material needs. Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards. Resolve discrepancies and issues related to supplier performance, quality, and delivery. Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience in procurement or buying within a manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and inventory management. Demonstrated ability to analyze costs, forecast demand, and manage inventory effectively. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Bonus Qualifications
Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Experience with international sourcing, logistics, and customs regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or specifications. Proficiency with advanced features of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., reporting, system optimization).
