Key Responsibilities
Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and quality.
Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery to meet production demands.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning to prevent stockouts or overstock.
Identify and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or supply.
Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation and issue resolution.
Ensure all procured materials comply with quality standards and specifications.
Recommended Qualifications
3-5+ years of direct purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing, inventory, and supplier management.
Demonstrated strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills with a focus on cost reduction.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain principles.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Bonus Qualifications
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
Experience with international sourcing, import/export regulations, and global logistics.
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM) or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Advanced proficiency with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, including supplier portal management.
