The Human Resources Coordinator is an entry‑level HR professional who provides day‑to‑day support to managers and employees, with a primary focus on employee relations and ongoing HR projects. This role partners closely with HR leadership and management to ensure consistent application of policies, positive employee experiences, and timely completion of HR initiatives.
Essential Job Functions Employee Relations Support
Serve as a first point of contact for managers regarding basic employee relations questions and concerns
Assist managers with documentation related to performance management, corrective action, and policy application
Support the intake, tracking, and follow‑up of employee relations issues in coordination with HR leadership
Help ensure consistent and fair application of HR policies and procedures
Participate in employee investigations by gathering documentation, scheduling meetings, and maintaining records
Manager & Employee Support
Respond to routine HR inquiries from managers and employees regarding policies, procedures, and HR processes
Provide guidance to managers on HR workflows and required documentation
Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including coordination, paperwork, and system updates
HR Projects & Administration
Support daily HR operations and ongoing HR projects such as policy updates, training initiatives, engagement activities, compliance tasks and recruiting initiatives in support of the Talent Acquisition Manager
Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems (HRIS)
Assist with audits, reporting, and data tracking related to employee relations and HR metrics
Help prepare materials, presentations, and communications for managers and employees
Compliance & Best Practices
Ensure HR practices align with company policies and applicable employment laws
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all employee‑related matters
Qualifications Required Skills / Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work effectively with managers at all levels
Time‑management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Willingness to learn and grow in the field of Human Resources
Education and Experience
Internship or prior experience in HR or administrative support
Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Licenses and Certifications
Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Environment Primary work environments will be in an office setting.
