IT Systems Architect – Gwinnett County Government
Location: Gwinnett County, GA. Full-time position with hybrid telework eligibility after probation. Job Description
Responsible for Cloud & System Design and Architecture, Technology Integration, and ensuring secure, scalable, compliant cloud solutions aligned with business goals. Key Responsibilities
Design secure IT environments that comply with regulatory standards. Collaborate on strategic IT planning and long‑term technology strategies. Architect and optimize cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, high availability, and cost efficiency. Plan and execute cloud migrations with minimal disruption. Implement security controls including identity management, encryption, and data access policies. Set up performance monitoring tools and monitor system performance. Design disaster recovery and business continuity solutions. Collaborate with development and IT teams to deploy and maintain cloud‑based solutions. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal governance. Implement cloud automation, orchestration, and deployment frameworks. Create and maintain documentation and provide training on cloud best practices. Public Speaking / Communication
Communication skills required for collaboration, presentations, and interaction with internal customers, external customers, and vendors. Other Requirements
Public safety background possible requirement; includes motor vehicle & criminal history checks and fingerprinting. Eligibility for hybrid telework after initial probationary period and individual approval. Grade & Compensation
Grade D61(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Seven years of increasingly responsible professional experience in security and compliance within a large‑scale IT environment. Valid driver’s license. Equivalent combination of education and experience, as applicable. Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience with Cloud Architecture Design, Configuration, Implementation, Migrations, and Administration. Certifications such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Associate, Azure Administrator/Architect, or Microsoft Server Operating Systems/Active Directory. Hiring Process
