Institutional Analytics & Decision Support The ***Institutional Analyst***serves as a key contributor within the Institutional Analytics & Decision Support (IA/IR) unit at the University of Washington. This position supports institutional assessment, accreditation, and evaluation initiatives by gathering, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting complex higher education data. The analyst assists in preparing reports and presentations that communicate findings to university leadership, academic units, and external stakeholders. Working collaboratively across administrative and academic departments, the analyst supports compliance monitoring, institutional effectiveness, and evidence-based policy implementation. The role requires independent judgment, analytical precision, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights that inform strategic planning and decision-making across the University.
**Duties and Responsibilities:** **Institutional Assessment, Accreditation, and Compliance Support** Assist with institutional assessment and accreditation projects by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to support compliance and continuous improvementMonitor institutional performance indicators and contribute to compliance tracking and reporting Collect, clean, validate, and organize data from multiple institutional sources to ensure accuracy and reliabilityContribute to institutional research publications, presentations, and online data resources Serve as a resource for units seeking to improve their use of data for planning, evaluation, and decision-makingParticipate in committees, working groups, or project teams focused on institutional effectiveness and analytics Conduct research and analysis to support institutional planning, resource allocation, and strategic initiatives Recommend data-driven approaches to improve institutional performance and accountability Other duties as assigned **Requirements:** Bachelor's degree in Institutional Research, Higher Education Administration, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Statistics, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field, and three years of experience in institutional research, enrollment analytics, or related data analysis within higher education or a comparable environment Proficiency with data analysis and statistical software such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, R, SAS, or equivalentExperience designing, administering, and analyzing surveys using tools such as Qualtrics Excellent skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis, including multivariate statistical methods Experience working with enrollment or student information systems (e.g., Banner) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences Demonstrated experience in working with diverse groups and teams; create a culture of inclusion and equity throughout the team while supporting the overall culture of FPB Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Policy, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field Experience supporting regional or programmatic accreditation processes Proficiency with SQL or similar query tools for data extraction and reportingExperience developing dashboards or visualizations in Tableau or Power BI Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards such as FERPA Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to convey analytical findings to diverse audiences ### BenefitsThere are many perks to working for the University of Washington.
