The***Data Analyst*** supports the University of Washington’s Institutional Analysis and Institutional Reporting teams by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of institutional data analysis and reporting processes. This role will support the automation of reporting by building dashboards and using advanced programming and reporting tools. The analyst also contributes to the documentation of processes and business rules that underpin reporting and analysis projects and will have the opportunity to learn and apply advanced data analysis techniques, including machine learning and econometric modeling. Through collaboration and technical expertise, this position supports data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the University’s data infrastructure.
**Duties & Responsibilities** Manage analytics and reporting tasks independently, exercising judgment in prioritizing and executing complex assignments Other duties as assigned Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Social Sciences or a related field, and two years of experience in business intelligence, or related technical rolesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and automation techniques Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau and Power BI for reporting and dashboard development Proficiency in SQL or similar data querying languages to extract and manipulate data from institutional databasesExperience conducting data validation, quality assurance, and troubleshooting data inconsistencies Basic understanding of data modeling concepts and experience assisting in data model developmentExperience with statistical programming languages such as R or Python is a plus Strong data visualization and presentation skills to communicate insights effectively Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and translate technical information for non-technical audiences Ability to manage multiple analytics tasks independently, prioritize work, and meet deadlines Demonstrated experience in working with diverse groups and teams; create a culture of inclusion and equity throughout the team while supporting the overall culture of FPB Experience supporting enrollment data projects or institutional analytics in higher education Knowledge of data governance and compliance reporting standards Familiarity with automation of reporting processes and scripting for data workflows Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous process improvement ### BenefitsThere are many perks to working for the University of Washington.
