Director of Learning & Development The Director of Learning and Development is responsible for establishing and building integrated and sustainable employee training and learning programs aligned with strategic goals, thus creating and delivering Hospital-wide curricula focused on behavioral, regulatory, quality, leadership, and skills development initiatives for all employees across all sites. Selective programs are also utilized by physicians, university students, and external entities (e.g., vendors). The position ensures regulatory compliance for employee orientation and ongoing education. In addition, the Director assists in the creation and deployment of our comprehensive leadership development programs for all levels of the organization to strengthen leadership capabilities, foster a culture of growth, and prepare a future-ready workforce capable of driving long-term success. The Director fosters exceptional working relationships with executive and line management to ensure that programs support key Hospital goals and requirements. Delivery of the curricula includes the ongoing operations of the learning development function, managing a staff of professionals in the analysis, development, and delivery of learning and training, responding to the needs and priorities of NYP. Reporting to the VP Chief Learning-Wellbeing Officer, the Director is responsible for the formulation, development, and implementation of operational plans and procedures to meet the key client needs across the organization. Managing multiple priorities and aligning resources against these priorities is an important function, in addition to maintaining high industry standards pertaining to the design, delivery, and measurement of training interventions. Responsibilities include: delivering management and employee education; implementing and tracking educational delivery systems; facilitating change; increasing education funding; and facilitating key client projects.

Preferred Criteria

Master’s degree

Knowledge of e‑learning technology

Required Criteria

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.

Minimum 8 years of work experience in the management of training or instructional design

Consultation with senior leadership

Measurement and analysis

Benchmarking/best practices

Change management

Strong data analysis skills

Strong implementation history
