Our Recreation, Sports and Events teams are hiring now for a Senior Supervisor – Multisensory working across Pioneer Recreation and Sports Centre and Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre, our newest facility.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei The Senior Supervisor will play a pivotal support role in shaping and delivering exceptional multisensory recreation services which address the complex needs of the people who live in our community, particularly those with disabilities or sensory needs.
While the role extends across the network of Christchurch City Council Recreation and Sport Centres, a primary focus will be supporting leadership and management of two key destination sensory experiences – the Sensory Centre based at Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre and the Sensory Aqua experience based at Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre.
Duties include:
Supportingthe Multisensory Team Leader through leading a team of Facilitatorsprovidingthe delivery of high-quality multisensory services in safe and appropriate environments that encourage ongoing participation.
Supervising and supporting frontline Multisensory Facilitators to effectively deliver a customer experience that is actively engaging, inspires confidence and a can‑do attitude by ensuring customer service standards and normal operating procedures are in place and followed
You’llvalue building relationships and will be able to easily build a rapport with your team, communityand your Team Leader
Have a minimum of 3 Years' practical experience in a disability or recreation environment, including 12 months leadership experience.
Hold a current Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (level 2)
Demonstrate the ability to take the lead and look for ways to make things better
Excellent attention to detail is important, ensuring all administrative tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Havestrong communication skills and be solution focused.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Hours of work: Working a Tuesday – Saturday roster with flexibility to work between the service operating hours of 8am – 8.30pm
Position: Full-time, permanent
Location: Across both Pioneer and Parakiore Sports and Recreation Centres
Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $74,394 to $82,660 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
