The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Byron Center seeking Design Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities

Develop and optimize product designs using CAD software and engineering principles. Conduct engineering analysis (e.g., FEA, stress analysis) to validate design integrity and performance. Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs). Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA). Support the prototyping, testing, and validation phases of new product development. Investigate and resolve design-related production issues and non-conformances. Select appropriate materials and components based on performance, cost, and manufacturing requirements. Recommended Qualifications

Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and their impact on design Proficient application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles Knowledge of material properties, selection, and application in a manufacturing context Proven ability to analyze design problems and develop innovative, manufacturable solutions Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field Bonus Qualifications

Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Hands‑on experience with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining). Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Proficiency with advanced FEA/simulation software (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus). Job Titles That Should Apply
