Design and develop new products, components, or systems from concept to production. Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and specifications. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. Conduct design analysis, simulations, and prototype testing to validate designs. Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and implement design improvements. Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for optimal performance and cost. Resolve design-related production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for part and assembly design. Strong understanding of common manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication). Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Knowledge of engineering materials and their selection for manufacturing applications. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with advanced simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD). Demonstrated hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, or fabrication. Proficiency with Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
