Overview The Patient Care Tech II will assist in meeting patient needs for all age groups (neonates, infant, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) in comfort, activities of daily living, clinical procedures, transport, safety, and blood sample collection. The role communicates observations to team members, maintains departmental policies, works within a multidisciplinary team, embraces shared governance, and participates in performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities

Assist in meeting patient needs for all age groups.

Comfort patients and perform activities of daily living.

Perform clinical procedures and transport patients safely.

Obtain blood samples according to established protocols.

Communicate observations and patient progress to team members.

Maintain departmental and hospital policies and infection control.

Work as part of a unit-based multidisciplinary patient care team.

Participate in shared governance nursing activities.

Participate in performance improvement activities and monitor accountability.

Qualifications Education

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) – required.

Post–high school education or related coursework – preferred.

Work Experience

1 year full‑time phlebotomy experience – required.

1 year direct care or laboratory experience – preferred.

Direct patient care experience such as nursing assistant, dietetics representative, physical therapy aide, phlebotomist, EKG technician – desired.

Additional Licenses and Certifications

BLS – required.

CNA or phlebotomy certification – preferred.

Location / Salary

North Augusta, SC $16.00‑$19.00
