Position Title Composites Manufacturing Engineer
Location On‑site (Auburn Hills)

Days Monday ‑ Friday 6a‑4:45p + Saturday 6a‑12p

Essential Functions
Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed
Interpret composite tooling/parts requirements, and curing processes
Assist with material selection, especially with fiber‑reinforced polymers and resins
Troubleshoot issues specific to composite manufacturing (e.g., delamination, fiber misalignment)
Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of composite tooling/parts
Recommend and implement improvements in composite processing techniques (e.g., autoclave, resin infusion, hand lay‑up)
Ensure designs and processes meet FAA, EASA, DoD, and company‑specific requirements
Provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams during fabrication and assembly
Resolve shop‑floor issues related to materials, tooling, parts, curing cycles, and bonding
Improve manufacturability, reduce scrap, and optimize cycle times
Prepare engineering reports, test documentation, and certification packages
Maintain configuration control and adherence to quality management systems (AS9100)
Contribute to corporate quality policy and objectives
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance
Follow OSHA safety guidelines, and ITAR compliance
Other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
Hands‑on experience with composite materials and processes is highly desirable
Independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workloads
Ability to suggest changes in office practices or procedures
Ability to work with a diverse group of external and internal contacts at all levels of the organization
Experience with quality systems (AS9100)
Experience with CAD (CATIA)
High School diploma or GED required
Composite Engineering degree‑related Bachelor of Science preferred
