Position Overview Fresenius Medical Care, a global leader in dialysis healthcare, is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Purpose and Scope Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Performs safe and effective dialysis therapy for assigned patients supervized by a registered nurse, participates in patient care implementation and evaluation, reports incidents, complaints or problems to the supervisor, and promotes a safe and clean work environment.

Principal Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for assigned patient(s).

Perform technical aspects of dialysis procedures and administer treatments.

Monitor and document dialysis parameters.

Report significant changes in patient condition to supervisor.

Educate patient and family about dialysis therapy.

Assist with emergency operational procedures.

Administer IV medication per orders and state laws.

Conduct pre, interim, and post-treatment patient assessment.

Initiate CPR measures in emergencies.

Support staff meetings, patient care plan meetings, and in-service classes.

Assist with coordination with Physician, Dietitian, Social Worker.

Technical Responsibilities

Safely operate dialysis equipment.

Perform minor troubleshooting.

Maintain clean, safe environment.

Address blood spills per FMCNA policies.

Operate emergency equipment according to SOP.

Customer Service

Drive FMCNA culture through values and service standards.

Ensure outstanding service to all customers.

Develop timely communication with customers.

Respond, resolve, and follow up on service issues.

Physical Demands Heavy lifting and moving patients, frequent standing, occasional movement of equipment up to 200 lbs, and travel between facilities.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN).

Current state licensure.

Experience & Required Skills

One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.

Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required.

ICU experience preferred but not required.

Complete training in theory and practice of hemodialysis.

Complete CPR certification.

Complete Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire.

Provide coverage at area facilities during short-staffing.

Meet Ishihara Color Blindness test requirement.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
