Job Summary Responsible for providing support to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI) as a mentor and coach to Site Managers, Supervising Teachers and Home Visitor Teachers; teaching skills to drive instruction and educational outcomes.
Job Qualifications
Minimum of aBachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, or related field of study with at least 2+ years’ experience in the Early Learning and/or Early Childhood Education field.
Experience providing Ohio Approved Trainings through OCCRRA (Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association) preferred.
Direct experience working in a Head Start program preferred.
Current valid driver’s license and an insured vehicle. Travel between sites in the greater Cleveland area, as needed.
No record of child abuse or moral turpitude asdeterminedby background check based on fingerprints.
Flexibility in working hoursis essential.
Job Skills
Mustpossessgood analytical, decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to handlehighly sensitiveand confidential information andpossessa high degree of initiative, tack, and good judgment.
Must be well organizedand beable to manage multiple priorities and requests.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the DCI in providing leadership and direction to the division for all educational matters including articulating clear programobjectives, setting goals, and defining success factors.
Identifyneeds and make recommendations for education resources to support teacher knowledge, programenhancementsand classroom environments.
Assistthe DCIthrough aidingandleadingprogramand project enhancements, management,deliverablesand outcomes.
Collaborate with community partners to enhance the early learning program.
Establishstandard vehicles for open communication between early learning leaders and teaching teamsin order tofacilitatehorizontal and vertical integration and articulation of the instructional program throughout the division.
Provide on-site coaching (modeling, observation/feedback),trainingand/or technicalassistance.Provide documentation of site visits and action plans to teaching staff, site managers, Director of Curriculum, and Instruction on a weekly basis.
Applies professional knowledge of child development principles to develop, arrange, conduct, andmonitorcurriculum/child development training for teaching staff andassistswith training for parents and volunteers.
Train and supportnew staffduring the orientation period, using the High/Scope approachand conscious discipline.In conjunction with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction,facilitateonboarding training, in-service training, Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards, Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework training, annual staff orientations, staff professional & appreciation days.
Experience developing Ohio Approved training hours invarious topicsand bewilling tosubmitagendas and obtain approval from the Ohio Department of Education foradditionalOhio Approvedtrainingsbased on data and teacher needs.
Ensure on-going monitoring, tracking, follow-up and analysis of child development services, and child outcomes.
Support teaching staff in ensuring that child achievement data is used to drive instruction in the classroom and at site level.
In conjunction with the site managers,establisha working system that ensures all staff follow the High/Scope Educational Approach, the High/Scope COR assessment tool, andutilizeintentional teaching practices.
Attends training at local,stateand national conferencesin order tokeep abreast of Early Childhood techniques.
Participatein Grantee,Agencyand community activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Upon Hire
Certification in CPR/First Aid, Communicable Disease, Child Abuse and Neglect Preventionrequiredupon hire.
