2589 ABOUT THE PROGRAMS: Roots to Recovery Roots to Recovery: A Holistic Approach to Substance Use Treatment (R2R) is an intermediate, 24/7 residential treatment for men in need of a structured environment to continue building upon their recovery skills. R2R is located in Willimantic. There are 14 beds and it is a 90 day maximum intermediate (3.5) residential substance abuse treatment program. Clients are referred from intensive treatment programs, emergency room staff and/or detox programs. Clients with co-occurring disorders and on Methadone maintenance are accepted. Clients cannot work during their stay but can start looking for work 3 weeks prior to program completion. ABOUT THE POSITION: Registered Nurse Duties & Responsibilities Demonstrates an understanding of the treatment of substance use disorders as well as cooccurring disorders relevant to the population served. Demonstrates the ability to teach and support the learning of a broad range of skills including those related to: coping skills, ADLS and areas of psychoeducation and linkage to community resources and self-help groups. Transports clients within the program as needed. Provides integrated behavioral health and medical treatment planning and comprehensive care management of adults with substance use and mental health disorders. Maintains knowledge of current ideas, theories and research regarding treatment of individuals with complex behavioral health and medical issues including factors contributing to health care disparities Supervises provision of laboratory testing on-site and off-site, according to agency policies Develops and provides individual and group treatment and psycho-educational groups designed to aid clients in understanding and maintaining their medications and side effects, as well as how to manage their behavioral health symptoms, improve skills for recovery and living a healthy lifestyle. Provides crisis assessment and intervention to monitor status of clients in crisis. Maintains first aid supplies, disposal of hazardous waste, and destruction of medications and management of medication administration program as applicable according to agency policy. Monitors the Medication Administration Program, medications, and physician’s orders. Additional duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
Graduate of a School of Nursing from an Accredited Nursing Program and RN Licensure. Experience:
Experience working with patients with substance use and mental health disorders. Experience working in a managed care environment. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
RN license to practice in State of CT. Training : CPR & First Aid Certification required OR must obtain within 90 days of employment. Why Join CHR?
