Develop new product designs and engineering solutions from concept to production. Utilize CAD software to create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of components and assemblies. Conduct design analysis, including stress, thermal, and tolerance studies, to ensure product performance and reliability. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA). Specify and select appropriate materials and components based on functional requirements, cost, and availability. Manage design documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications, and engineering change orders (ECOs). Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities to ensure designs meet performance and quality standards. Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related engineering discipline. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and PDM systems. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and material properties. Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for technical drawings. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with advanced FEA/CFD simulation software. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python) for design automation or data analysis. Hands‑on experience with prototyping, testing, or shop floor operations. Job Titles That Should Apply
