The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Caledonia that are seeking skilled Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and validation of new tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes.

Oversee the maintenance, repair, and modification of existing production tooling to ensure optimal performance and extend tool life.

Diagnose and resolve complex tooling issues, working closely with production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

Identify opportunities for tooling improvements to enhance product quality, reduce cycle times, and lower manufacturing costs.

Select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for tooling components, considering factors like durability, cost, and performance.

Collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and production requirements.

Manage tooling inventory, spare parts, and implement preventative maintenance schedules.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam) for tool design and simulation.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, machining, or casting.

Experience in designing, developing, and optimizing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.

Knowledge of material properties, heat treatment, and surface finishes relevant to tooling applications.

Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling issues and failures.

Familiarity with GD&T and metrology for tooling inspection and quality assurance.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for tool design validation.

Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling or prototyping.

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.

Proficiency in automation scripting or data analysis tools relevant to manufacturing processes.

Project management experience for tooling development projects.
