Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and modify manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of existing tooling to ensure production continuity.
Optimize tooling processes and designs to improve part quality, reduce cycle times, and minimize costs.
Collaborate with production, design, and quality teams to integrate new tooling and resolve manufacturing issues.
Specify and select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for new and redesigned tooling.
Manage tooling projects from concept through implementation, including budget and timeline adherence.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling performance and lifespan.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
3-5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for tooling design and analysis.
Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, stamping, injection molding).
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex tooling issues and implement effective solutions.
Knowledge of GD&T principles and their application in tooling design and inspection.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical scanners).
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for tool design validation.
Background in automation or robotics integration within manufacturing lines.
