R-14424**Online applications must be received before 11:59pm on:**January 25, 2026If a date is not listed above, review the Applicant Instructions below for more details.**Available Title(s):**510G-YN\_CS\_NPS - Laboratory Technician 1**Business Title:**Laboratory Technician 1**Employee Type:**Classified**Position Details:****The Opportunity:**Under general supervision, process samples, set up microbiologic assays for the detection of pathogenic bacteria; set up fecal floatation samples for the detection of avian parasites; perform data entry, results entry, and order tests with laboratory information management system (LIMS); and perform routine laboratory maintenance duties such as autoclaving biohazardous waste, restocking supplies, making reagents/media, and general preventative maintenance on equipment. Eligibility and understanding of BSL-2 laboratory safety guidelines and work environment is required.**Additional Information:**This is a **full time** (**100%** FTE), **permanent** position. This position is overtime **eligible.**

**Required Qualifications:*** Completion of an approved course\* for laboratory assistants OR two years of chemical, or clinical or public health laboratory experience. Training in medical technology or education in college with courses in laboratory sciences may be substituted, year for year, for experience. \*Course approved by American Society of Clinical Pathologists.* Ability to work overtime and rotate on holidays, if necessary.* Physical eligibility required for working in a BSL-2 environment.
