$74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Manistee seeking Tooling Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tools, jigs, fixtures, and molds.

Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and modification of existing production tooling.

Diagnose and resolve tooling-related issues on the production floor to minimize downtime.

Manage the specification, procurement, and validation of new tooling and equipment.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, production, quality) on tooling requirements and improvements.

Implement and maintain tooling documentation, standards, and safety protocols.

Recommended Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.

3-5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, or maintenance within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX) for tool design and analysis.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, machining, or die casting.

Knowledge of tool materials, heat treatment processes, and surface finishing techniques.

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with mold flow or FEA simulation software.

Proficiency in advanced CAM programming.

Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes for tooling applications.

Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
