Qualifications The primary function of the Integrative Wellbeing Fitness Supervisor is to assist the Assistant Director of Integrative Wellbeing in providing a high quality onboarding and training process for fitness colleagues, continuous assessment of quality of classes to meet Miraval standards, cleaning IW programming spaces, monitoring maintenance and inventory of fitness equipment and support the daily needs of the fitness team.
This position is a part time role and reports to the Assistant Director of Integrative Wellbeing.
Responsibilities
Participate in interviews and demos
Onboard and train new colleagues
Ongoing class quality assessment to ensure experiences are meeting Miraval standards
In partnership with IW Manager, support and manage fitness team and spaces – schedule changes, entering monthly schedule, time off requests, substitutes, mentorship, maintenance of area and ensure equipment and practices are current and safe
Substitute classes as needed
Clean spaces and equipment at least weekly and as needed, develop and maintain cleaning schedule
Maintain inventory and department purchasing requests, develop and maintain inventory check and ordering schedule
Partner with Director to promote and grow area programs
Partner with IW Leadership to maximize and adjust monthly fitness schedule
Facilitate and maintain collaborative interdepartmental relationships
Support departmental colleagues' growth and development and monitor their wellbeing/satisfaction
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Group Fitness Instructor from ACE, AFAA, NASM, or ACSM.
Fitness instructor and teacher trainer.
CPR and AED certified and first aid certification required.
Ability to teach new formats, check for understanding and adapt as needed.
Ability to assess programs and instruction style to match Miraval standards and goals.
Strong knowledge of fitness instruction safety as well as equipment safety.
Familiarity with Resort Suite and willingness to learn to become proficient with Resort Suite and other program booking software.
Strong computer skills and proficiency or willingness to learn Microsoft Office products and Birchstreet.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to provide feedback respectfully and receive feedback openly. High level of emotional intelligence.
Demonstrated skills in organization, completing tasks, creative and collaborative problem solving.
Demonstrated skill as a team-player and collaborator to deliver luxury guest experience.
Ability to commit to company values of empathy, integrity, respect, inclusion, experimentation and wellbeing.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to move/lift more than 50 pounds.
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Preferred
5+ years of supervisory experience of a team of 10+ instructors in related field.
5+ years of fitness instruction experience with ability to confidently teach a variety of formats.
