The HCA Nurse Residency Program is a year‑long, paid program designed to give new RN graduates hands‑on experience and to help them transition from student nurse to registered nurse. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse you will be supported by a community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents who promote learning, clinical application, and socialization.

What will you do in this role
Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s); document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly
Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient response, and notify the provider and intervene as appropriate if there is an unintended response
Respond immediately to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve issues proactively
Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex medical terminology into clear, understandable language
Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
Other certifications may be required during employment
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
No previous experience required; some travel may be necessary for training
