Comply with the fiscal provisions of the Sun City Grand Community Association governing documents Coordinate month‑end/year‑end close process Prepare monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) and analyze/report on variances Ensure compliance with GAAP, HOA governing documents, and state statutes Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and journal entries Serve as the go‑to resource for accounts payable and accounts receivable and fully cross‑train these responsibilities plus purchasing to ensure coverage during absences Assist with fixed asset and project accounting Respond to homeowner financial inquiries professionally and accurately Assist in developing the annual budget Prepare schedules and documentation for annual audits and tax returns Ensure compliance with Arizona HOA laws and governing documents Assist with documentation of accounting procedures to support scalability, compliance, segregation of duties, and strong internal controls Assist with development of accounting standard operating procedures Provide recommendations to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes Understand, maintain, and enhance accounting data within HOA systems Assist with implementing and optimizing financial systems and tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities Train and mentor junior accounting staff, as applicable Perform other duties as assigned What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in accounting is REQUIRED 2+ years of relevant accounting experience including process documentation, financial systems, financial statement audits, reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting Advanced skills with financial software systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel – pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, HOA accounting practices, and applicable state regulations Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with non‑financial team members and stakeholders Analytical problem‑solving mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence Works well balancing multiple priorities while working under pressure and time‑sensitive deadlines Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 per year depending on skills and experience.
