Assistant Controller
position in our Youngstown, OH office.
BBH is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our dynamic accounting team. The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in managing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment. This position will report to our SVP of Finance.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepares and consolidates monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance.
Internal Controls:
Establish, maintain, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
General Ledger:
Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist the Senior Vice President of Finance with budget preparation, analysis, and monitoring of accounts.
Analysis:
Perform various accounting analyses, cost variance analysis, and present findings to the SVP of Finance.
Supervision:
Under the direction of the SVP of Finance, oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting teams.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
Work independently and with a team in a fast‑paced and high‑volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
BA/BS Degree
3+ years’ experience in accounting or finance
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, detail-oriented, and proficiency with accounting software.
Experience with Acumatica or Salesforce preferred but not required.
This is an on‑site position at our corporate office.
