Metrology Support Specialist

Piper Companies . The Metrology Technician will manage calibrations and maintain accurate instrumentation records ensuring compliance and operational reliability. The position requires on-site presence 5 days a week in Clayton, NC.
Responsibilities
Review, scan, and upload calibration paperwork; clean up and organize entries for equipment tagging and maintenance records.
Verify OEM specifications and adjust tolerances to prevent operational issues.
Develop and maintain basic job plans for calibration and maintenance tasks.
Troubleshoot instrumentation loops, transmitters, and HMIs during production.
Support seasonal transitions and address alarms for chillers, boilers, and BMS.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in metrology, instrumentation, or facilities maintenance.
Familiarity with CMMS systems (Maximo; Blue Mountain experience a plus).
Understanding of instrumentation and control systems (I&C), including HMIs and transmitters.
Ability to interpret OEM specifications and calibration tolerances.
Strong organizational skills for managing multiple vendors and instruments.
Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues.
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and respond to alarms as needed.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, instrumentation, or related field preferred.
Compensation
Salary range: $62,000 – 93,000.
