Overview Hyundai Motor Group North America Quality Center (NAQC) is looking for a
Chassis Manager
for its Investigation Team 1. The role focuses on field investigations, root‑cause analysis, and collaboration with stakeholders to improve vehicle quality.
Responsibilities
Lead the NAQC Chassis Group to improve overall quality, enhance customer perception, and ensure stable deployment of new vehicles.
Monitor quality trends and lead chassis‑related quality projects, including pre/Post‑launch evaluations and supplier/service quality improvements, to reduce warranty costs.
Collaborate with North American affiliates to review field issues, develop containment plans, and support HMG investigations by coordinating affiliate involvement and sharing findings.
Maintain effective communication among N.A. affiliates, Korean counterparts, and suppliers.
Set group goals aligned with corporate direction and manage strategies, operational plans, staffing, and budgets; mentor direct reports.
Plan and execute initiatives to strengthen engineering capability within the team.
Prepare weekly plans, activity reports, and executive summaries to track performance and progress.
Review external safety and product feedback databases to identify potential quality concerns.
Report quality issues with accurate test conditions and duplication details for proper counter‑measure development.
Perform administrative tasks such as purchase orders, vacation requests, travel requests, and performance evaluations.
Candidate should have broad vehicle system knowledge with strong expertise in chassis systems.
Provide performance updates, key challenges, and proposed solutions to the CHAS/TRIM Sr. Manager.
Qualifications
Have bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Have 10+ years of experience in QA/QC, Quality Improvement, or Vehicle Quality Investigation & Root‑Cause Analysis.
Familiarity with vehicle instrumentation and data acquisition tools (e.g., NVH/CAN/thermal loggers, oscilloscope, gauges, etc.), service manuals, shop equipment, and chassis‑related test equipment.
Be proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Previous team management experience is preferred.
Travel up to 20% of time (domestic & international).
Be willing to support initiatives that may fall outside the day‑to‑day activities listed above.
Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
